WHAT IS OZONE ?
Ozone is a 100% natural gas composed of three atoms of oxygen. The chemical symbol is O3. It is blue in color and has a strong odor. Normal oxygen (O2) that we breathe, has two oxygen atoms and is colorless and odorless. Ozone is the second most powerful sterilant and can be used to destroy bacteria, viruses and odors.
Lightning also creates ozone. The electrical discharge produces an abundance of ozone during a thunderstorm. This is one of the reasons why the air smells fresh and clean after a thunderstorm.

HOW IS OZONE PRODUCED?
There are two methods of producing ozone:
■ Corona Discharge: The 'corona discharge' ozone generator creates ozone by mimicking the action of lightning. It uses a high voltage in a metallic grid chamber to combine the oxygen atoms with the oxygen molecules. It effectively restructures the formation and creates Ozone.
■ Ultraviolet Light: When a wavelength of 254nm (nano-meters) hits an oxygen atom, it disrupts the atom and attaches it to an individual oxygen molecule, creating Ozone. This occurs naturally through the sun's ultraviolet rays.

5 STEPS OF OZONE CYCLE
ozone Treatment Efficiency
Ozone shock treatment floods the area with high, but acceptable, ozone concentration levels in a short amount of time. Ozone gets to work right away, requiring only 30 seconds to kill bacteria, viruses, and odors. Because ozone is quickly generated, and rapidly cleans the area, shock treatments are short and manageable.
Ozone leaves behind no residue. It is just oxygen.
Ozone breaks down in minutes and leaves behind clean sanitized surfaces and fresh air.
ozone risk
It is important to clarify that ozone is very different from oxygen. Ozone is not harmful to mammals at low concentrations, but it is lethal to microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses. However, ozone can be harmful to humans if not handled properly.
Ozone is a toxic gas that has risks.
YOUR SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO US !
HOW HARMFUL IS OZONE TO HUMANs?
■ If inhaled, ozone causes coughing, dryness of the mouth and irritation of the nose, chest, and throat. It may also cause troubled breathing, heaviness in the chest, fatigue and headaches. Ozone has a very potent odor that is immediately identifiable at concentrations as low as 0.005 ppm.
■ Ozone can irritate eyes, causing minor inflammation and pain.
■ Ozone is generally not absorbed through skin
■ If inhaled by individuals with pre-existing conditions, such as asthma, ozone may increase sensitivity and cause increased irritation to allergens.

Adverse long term health effects of ozone exposure has not been recorded.
Consistent exposure results in partial tolerance.

corrective measures
■ In the event of an accidental excessive release of ozone, evacuate the area until ozone level subsides (approximately 30 minutes or less).
■ Step outside for fresh air and loosen clothing. Call for medical attention if necessary. If difficulty breathing, a trained personal will administer oxygen at 15 lpm.
■ Ventilation of the closed space to other spaces will further disperse the ozone, resulting in concentration levels rapidly decreasing after generation ceases.
■ If excessive eye contact, rinse eye thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, contact medical attention.
■ If excessive skin contact, wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.

Full recovery is expected for short term
low concentration exposure.
our safety procedure
To ensure safety precaution, our equipment have the following safety functions:
■ An alarm initiates when the ambient ozone level exceeds 0.1ppm. This is a signal to turn down the generator, however this level of ozone is acceptable.
■ A second alarm is set at ambient ozone levels of 0.3ppm. At this level, the generator will immediately shut down.
In addition we will have an ozone monitor present during treatment.
Humans can smell ozone well before it is dangerous. The odor detection threshold is 0.005 ppm.

Does Ozone Damage Plastic or Rubber?
Ozone is a "reactive gas", which means that it reacts with other compounds or elements. This reaction is called OXIDATION.
Oxidation is normal for plastics and rubber items. You would see this on rubber tires that have been left out in the elements like the sun and rain. This is the exact same reaction you will find with ozone, with one difference, ozone speeds up the aging process. The process isn't dramatic though. There has been NO documented case where an ozone treatment has damaged any soft plastic or rubber. Technology has allowed ozone machines to be more efficient, therefore limiting exposure to all items in the treated room.
